4-in-1 Pie

Pies are a staple dessert for Thanksgiving, but sometimes it can be hard to choose which pie to bake to satisfy the most people. Well, don’t worry anymore. We found a 4-in-1 pie that consists of apple, cherry, pumpkin, and pecan to save you the time!

  1. First preheat the oven to 350 degrees F, and separate the crusts into two parts.
  2. Roll out the first dough and press it into a rectangular baking sheet so that the crust comes up the sides and hangs over slightly, then chill for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Use the remaining dough for the top of the pie, cutting it to fit the design of each pie.
  4. Follow your favorite apple, cherry, pumpkin, and pecan pie recipe, setting each aside.
  5. Once all fillings are made, remove the baking sheets from the refrigerator and begin assembling. Divide the pan into 4 equal quadrants, poking the bottom crust all over with a fork
  6. Add the pie fillings to each desired quadrant, covering the appropriate pies with dough and pressing any remaining strips of dough around the edge of the pie.
  7. Brush the edges and the dough on top of the pie with egg and sugar.
  8. Finally, bake until all pies are set, usually 55 minutes to 1 hour and 5 minutes.

Apple Cider Donuts

If you just can’t get enough of apples and you have a love for homemade donuts, try this warm apple cider donuts recipe!

  1. Combine 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon in a paper bag, and shake to mix them.
  2. Boil 3 cups of apple cider in a large skillet over high heat until reduced to 1 cup, usually in 15 to 20 minutes, then cool completely.
  3. Whisk together 2 eggs, 6 tablespoons of butter, and reduced cider in a bowl.
  4. Beat 3 1/2 cups of flour, 2/3 cup of brown sugar, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1 1/2 teaspoons of apple pie spice with an electric mixer until combined in a separate bowl for about 30 seconds.
  5. Beat in cider mixture just until moistened, then cover and chill for at least 1 hour.
  6. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat to 365 degrees F. Then line a baking sheet with paper towels and divide the dough in half.
  7. Working with one half at a time on a floured work surface, roll the dough and cut into circles until all the dough is used.
  8. Fry the doughnuts in batches until golden brown, about 45 seconds to 1 minute per side, then drain on prepared baking sheet for 30 seconds.
  9. Gently toss the warm doughnuts in cinnamon sugar, and they’re ready to be served.

Turkey Cookies

This is the perfect Thanksgiving dessert for baking for beginners. An easy treat to make are cute and edible turkeys out of your favorite fall snacks!

  1. Place chocolate chips in a medium stainless steel or glass bowl. Then set the bowl over a saucepan of barely simmering water and watch the chips melt.
  2. Stir occasionally until the chocolate has melted, usually in about 4 minutes, then set aside to cool.
  3. For each turkey, push 5 candy corn candies, tip-side down, into the cream filling of an Oreo to make the feathers for the turkey.
  4. Then dip the flat, larger end of a peanut butter cup in the melted chocolate, allowing any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
  5. Place the peanut butter cup, chocolate-dipped end down, onto the sandwich cookie.
  6. Next, dip a malt ball into the melted chocolate, placing it above the peanut butter cup to make the head of the turkey.
  7. Dip the flat end of a white candy corn tip in the chocolate and place it on the malt ball to make the turkey’s beak.
  8. Refrigerate until the chocolate has set, which takes about 10 minutes. Afterwards, pipe a small piece of red frosting under the malt ball to make the turkey’s beard.
  9. Finally, place a cookie with the top half removed on a platter, and stand the turkey upright into the cream filling.
