If you find work and outgoings consuming your life, then you probably been neglecting yourself. The weekends especially are supposed to be a relaxing period, but this isn't the case for most people. Practice Beauty & Retail Therapy

How To Practice Self-Care

We're not saying to do a full-face of makeup and call it a day. Part of self-care is taking care of your muscles and skin. Consider taking some time to pamper yourself with an at-home facial, or treating yourself to a massage at the spa. This will reduce any tension caused by stress, and feel soothing in the process. Additionally, it's time to buy a new outfit. Purchase clothes that make you look good AND feel good. It'll do wonders for your ego, as the term retail therapy exists for a reason.

Socialize Effortlessly

How To Practice Self-Care

Seeing your friends and making plans should be a fun doing, not something to add to your stress. That's why it's important to socialize effortlessly for self-care, and not put too much work or thought into your friends. Especially the older we get, the less we want to make an event about socialization. It's better to preserve your energy and keep social time stress-free. Try calling your friends or having them come along with you while you complete chores or self-care activities. It's honestly really difficult today to get time for yourself, so killing two birds with one stone isn't a bad idea.

Take A Breather From Chores

How To Practice Self-Care

Many people prioritize cleaning and other chores once they finished their work day. This is why you're burning out and never catching a break - you're constantly doing some type of work! It's time to take a break from the chores. If you're exhausted, consider taking a nap before starting laundry or anything else. It's proven that taking a quick 20-40 minute nap can increase productivity and improve performance anyway. We promise all your chores will still be there when you wake up!

Explore Your Own City

How To Practice Self-Care

It's amazing how many people don't visit places right in their own town. Take some time to yourself to explore your own city and get to know where you're living. This can be a nature preserve, a lake, bookstore, museum, restaurant - you name it - just be a tourist for a day. As you're exploring and walking around, you're also getting exercise - which is crucial for self-care and feeling your best. Maybe you'll find a local gym or yoga studio in your findings, or a perfect hiking trail to go on daily walks. Whatever it is, it's great for lowering heart disease, toning up the body, releasing stress, reducing anxiety and depression, and increasing self-esteem and brain function. If you're in need for some serious alone time, a walk is your simple and beneficial cure.
